About Us
we provide top-notch firearms training so you can build a stable learning foundation... that is set upon a rock!
Set Free Sidearm Training is a firearms training company devoted to providing the highest level of defensive training to responsible citizens. We are located in the East Bay, Hayward / San Leandro area. Our instructor staff is composed of individuals that have decades of military experience. They are also USCCA, NRA Law Enforcement, DOJ CCW Certified and Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) Handgun and Tactical Rifle Certified Instructors. We have the highest levels of training and operational experience in both military and law enforcement.

CCW INITIAL Training
16hr Course
This course is mandatory for obtaining your Initial Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) License. The Initial Course is designed for new CCW Applicants that desire to carry a concealed firearm and has gone through the Sheriff’s process of their designated county.
WEEKLY CLASS SCHEDULE (Class and Range Qualifications are held in Hayward / San Leandro Area)
* THURSDAY – FRIDAY (16 hour Course) 12:30pm start (both days)
* FRIDAY – SATURDAY (16 hour Course) 12:30pm start on Friday / 9:00am start on Saturday
* Request any day if you have a party of 3 or more
We always try our best to accommodate you with your busy schedule. Therefore, we now offer split-day courses that does not have to be consecutive days for this 16 hour Course. (call for details)

CCW RANGE Qualification
The Range Qualification Course varies between county standards. A Set Free Sidearm Training Instructor can guide you through the process so you can accomplish your goals.
We offer FREE Range Qualification ($80 value) if you decide to take both the 16hr. CCW Initial Training and CCW Range Qualification at our facility.
Are you worried about passing the range qualification? Our Certified Instructors can provide you hands on training to strengthen your skillset.
**Qualify with an additional firearm for only $25 per gun!**
CCW RENEWAL Course
CCW Renewal Course is held every Friday at 12:30pm.
We offer FREE Range Qualification ($80 value) if you decide to take both the 8hr. CCW Renewal Training and CCW Range Qualification at our facility.
This 8 hr. course is designed for current CCW License holders that need to renew their CCW License every two years.
** Retired Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) may use our services to renew their CCW License **

Many students prefer one-on-one or a smaller group setting in order to receive the individual attention they deserve in class. Being a private course, sections tend to run smoother and faster… so be prepared to take notes! This option also offers a semi-private range qualification day instead of a public one which causes significant wait time. Class days are open during week. (Interested? Call for more details)

Why do you need a Multi State CCW if you already have a CCW for California? This is a great option for those who like to travel! A Utah Concealed Firearm Permit will allow you to legally carry in numerous states that CA does not allow. By having a CA CCW along with a Utah CCW, you can “almost” take a road trip while concealed carrying nationwide. (Please double check the reciprocity map)
This class trains you for your Multi State (Utah) non-resident Concealed Firearm Permit. You do not need to have a California CCW to obtain this permit.
The class is inclusive of the curriculum mandated by the Utah Department of Public Safety (BCI). The State of Utah requires that any non-resident CCW applicant receive their mandated training, provided by an Utah State Certified Instructor. Set Free Sidearm Training instructors are certified by the state of Utah.
There is no live fire in this course.
Prerequisite:
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be 21 or over to apply for this permit.
- Must speak and understand fluent English.
